Tom's Roaring Fork Valley Obituary

Tom Lanigan
February 21, 1954 - March 18, 2010

Live a good life. In the end, it’s not the years in a life, it’s the life in the years.
-Abraham Lincoln

Tom left this world for his next big adventure after a three year battle with cancer. He will be missed by all whose lives he touched. Many will recall Tom’s laugh, legendary sense of humor and love of all things fun.

Tom and his wife Jana relocated from California in 2001 to the Roaring Fork Valley where he avidly enjoyed skiing and whitewater sports. Tom’s love of the mountains was only enhanced by years of creative and masterful building with Jack Wilkie Builders, leaving behind a legacy of dream homes.

He is survived by his wife Jana Lanigan, son Evan and daughter Emily, his sisters and their families including many adored nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, your contributions to the Tom Lanigan Memorial Fund are greatly appreciated. All donations will help with extensive medical debt and lost income.

  2. I didn't know Tom other than to help him with arrangements for his meetings with Ignacio at the Town Hall. I was envious of their meetings as they were always laughing and sharing stories. It was obvious they shared a connection and friendship. I admired Tom for giving as he did and I hope that I can emulate that and give of myself the way Tom did. I know from reading the comments on Tom's site, he is missed.
